The Childress Institute is co-hosting a Sports Medicine Education Course on Sunday, Aug. 5 at Daytona International Speedway thanks to the organizational and instructional support from Florida Hospital in Daytona Beach, FL.
WHAT: Sports Medicine Education Course – 2 hours of didactic and 2 hours of hands-on simulation (4 hours total) to discuss the continuum of athletic injuries, with a focus on concussions, emergency action plans and spinal injury management. Upon completion of this program, participants will be able to discuss emergency action plans for sports injuries in young athletes and how all members of the care team (athletic trainer, coach, EMS, etc.) should work together.
WHEN: Sunday, August 5; Registration opens at 12 pm, class is from 1-5 pm
WHERE: Daytona International Speedway, Daytona Beach, FL – free parking
WHO: Youth and high school coaches, athletic trainers, sports medicine first responders, EMS and emergency department staff
